HamGroups.ch now extended

Deutsche Version: HamGroups.ch jetzt erweitert
Version française: HamGroups.ch désormais élargi
Versione italiana: HamGroups.ch in ampliamento

Many of our members, but also external interested parties, have become acquainted with the new HamGroups of the USKA since last late summer. The test phase is now over, numerous suggestions have been taken up and integrated.

HamGroups are topic-focused online “regulars’ tables” where radio amateurs interested in the same topic can meet and exchange ideas. Each HamGroup has its own BBB room and a separate Moodle repository.

Phase 2 has just gone live. Several new topics have been unlocked, and their online regulars are scheduled.

Anyone may drop in at the BBB regulars’ table, but USKA membership and registration are required to access the Moodle repository and forum. Registration for a HamGroup is done by filling out and submitting the form found at the very bottom right of each HamGroup’s home page (scroll all the way down!).

Not all topics have a moderator yet. However, the meetings will take place in any case – often there is someone among the participants who can then take care of the HamGroup.

By the way: we do not do project work in our HamGroups. Each meeting is independent of the others. The moderator can suggest focal points for the discussion, the members of the HamGroup can put desired topics on the agenda.

The current phase 2 is not yet the final expansion. If you want more topics, please send your wishes to online@uska.ch, preferably with a suggestion of a moderator. The next expansion step is planned for March 2022.

The regulars’ tables usually take place once a month. For HamGroups with intensive activity bi-weekly. The meetings usually last about an hour, or longer if there is a great need for discussion.
