Andreas Spiess HB9BLA joins the USKA Board.

Andy was elected as member of the Board at the USKA Board meeting on 7 December 2021 with a unanimous Board resolution based on USKA Statutes Art 7.2 alinea 3. Andy will be inducted into office on an interim basis at the Board meeting in January 2022.

The definitive election is then planned for the Delegates’ Assembly DA 2023. This two-stage procedure is necessary because Andy Spiess was a member of USKA for a short time in the past, but did not rejoin USKA until 2020 when he reactivated his hobby, and thus one of the statutory eligibility requirements for an election at the DA 2022 is not met.

Andy Spiess is known to some of our members and to many people outside USKA who are interested in technology, especially through his extremely successful YouTube activities. With 350,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, Andy is without a doubt one of the “YouTube stars”. Andy has also already held several HamWebinars for USKA and is actively involved in USKA’s new HamGroups.

Andy: “I also run this channel to pass on the knowledge of our generation to the younger ones. Since I love our hobby, I would now like to try to do the same within the framework of USKA. I also want to ensure that digital topics find a place within USKA and no longer stand on the sidelines”.
